So I realized I've not been posting not only because I've been lazy, but because work now blocks all 'personal blogging' sites. Meh. So I can't edit or read posts or comments during the day, and I'm very rarely on the computer at night. Sorry guys.
The weather lately has been pretty miserable for anything. I miss training in winter when I wasn't coated in an impenetrable layer of sweat after 10 minutes. Anyway, I finally got out to take Buzz for a spin this morning. (Despite my migraine last night.) It was mostly fun, and not too terrifying. I have no idea yet just how much I can push myself on the bike. It's fun yet scary when you realize just how fast you can go if you pretend it's a stationary bike like in a spin class, but then realize you have obstacles to avoid like traffic. (I'm a newbie, can you tell?)
I've been out either running or biking on two new trails: Rock Creek Trail near Meadowbrook and our kickball fields, and the Bethesda Trolley Trail near home. My mom mentioned to me years ago when she first came to visit that this area is remarkably accessible to parks and other outdoorsy areas. At the time I didn't believe her; how could she say that when Vermont was a virtual wilderness, but Rockville was nothing but people and traffic. I spent a long time with that mentality- not that King Farm was an awful place to circle around, but man was I missing out on a lot. This area really is full of well paved, well marked trails. Where else am I able to run/ride across one of the busiest highways in the country on my own paved, dedicated overpass? It's quite remarkable and really has opened my eyes.
Next step: be able to ride on the road long enough (without freaking out) to get over to Rock Creek.

dig me up from under what is covering the better part of me
Long time no post. Frankly, I've been really lazy since Pike's Peek. But, countdown is on for Rockville Twilight 8k 7/17.
I also finally bought a bike. I was convinced into one of the more expensive hybrids. Say hello to Buzz.
I'm searching for a triathlon to do late summer/early fall. Either Luray Sprint in August (on my birthday) or Patriot Sprint in Williamsburg in September. To Be Determined.
I've been anxious lately about a lot of things. Some real, some all in my head. I need to get back on a schedule. Running is cheaper than therapy.
